My 3 Cavaliers enjoy a pampered life, no different to Cavaliers around the world.
Harry, James and Lizzie enjoy their daily routine. Meals are consumed with vigour; treats, when given, are excitedly eaten; walks are always enthusiastically undertaken, although Lizzie can be a nightmare to walk , and our sleeps are very sound . Alas, the gentle sounds of snoring often drifts around the room. They like to lie on the floor near me as I work on the computer.
Harry is a good mate to Lizzie and James. They only became a trio in early March 2014, when James and Lizzie arrived. They have bonded very well.
Whilst Lizzie loves to use James’ backside as her pillow, she sometimes does the same to Harry. Lizzie and James spent 11 years of their lives together; I took them as rescue dogs to give them a good home.
Lizzie is very protective, very territorial, and lets you know when she demands attention. She does not react well initially to visitors, often barking loudly. When she feels comfortable with them, she settles down. Recently, my neighbour’s old garage was removed. The demolition workers were robed in protective clothing. Lizzie decided to put on an Academy Award performance –barking loudly. The worker’s response was to wave at her……
Harry is a very attractive looking dog. He walks elegantly, and attracts attention from passers by. Harry, my Jack the Lad, is named after my late partner Harold, and Prince Harry. I wrote to Prince Harry in April 2013 to inform him; a lovely return letter was sent to me from his Press Secretary in late April 2013.
James is a very gentle dog- a quiet and loving animal . He is in contrast to my former dogs: toffy- nosed Raine, ladies’ man William, distinguished Angus McTavish, and my gentle lady, Marietta.
In the future, Lizzie Mayhem, as I now call her, may become the subject of a children’s book. She has a great personality, is mischievous, and is one unique pint –sized Cavalier. She may just meet some interesting characters in 2015, and as a result be immortalised in print.
