Anne Field, former secondary teacher, Local Government Councillor, author, local historian, heritage advocate & adventurer.

Anne was born in Newcastle, NSW and moved to Sydney to complete her education at Macquarie University. Her first teaching appointment was at Figtree High School, Wollongong and then she spent 35 years as a Legal Studies, Geography and Commerce teacher at St George Girls High School, Kogarah (1977-2011). Anne has perfected her writing skills over the 17 years she was in Local Government (1991-2008). She wrote Press Releases, material for Council debate, researched and wrote guest talks to community groups, and wrote many Letters to the Editor for various newspapers. She has always loved local history, so this has influenced the direction of her research and writing. Anne undertook her “Messege in a Bottle Adventure” during 2012. Since mid 2017, Anne has been the Chair of the Moorefield Estate F6 Commitee. Harry, Anne’s beloved King Charles Cavalier Spaniel is her loving companion.
