HAROLD WAS BORN IN CASTLEFORD, YORKSHIRE, ENGLAND.
HIS LOVE OF FOOTBALL BEGAN AT A YOUNG AGE, AND STAYED WITH HIM THROUGHOUT HIS LIFE. HAROLD WASALSO A LIFE- LONG LEEDS SUPPORTER.
HE EMIGRATED TO AUSTRALIA IN 1970, AND CONTINUED HIS EXTENSIVE INVOLVEMENT IN FOOTBALL IN WOLLONGONG, AND THEN IN BEXLEY, SYDNEY.
HAROLD CONTINUED TO PLAY FOOTBALL FOR MANY YEARS –ALWAYS AS A GOAL KEEPER. HE COACHED A NUMBER OF TEAMS , AND WAS ALSO A REFEREE.
On May 25, 2013, I had the opportunity to attend the 50th Anniversary Reunion of Harold’s Champion winning team. This was held at Fryston Colliery Football Club in Yorkshire, England.
